Artist Statement:
Known for her colorful and biomorphic imagery, Shana Kohnstamm creates fantastical works and seemingly alien lifeforms that incite whimsy and wariness, intrigue and hesitation. Since 2020, Shana has been engrossed in translating her felted biomorphic forms from fiber to ceramics and mixed media sculpture. Utilizing multiple methods of surface treatments, including underglaze, stains, paints, resins, and wax, Shana's one-of-a-kind sculptural pieces are sure to delight.
