Artist Statement:
Laurel is a Washington, DC-area based artist, who is primarily known for her ceramic installations and pottery that draw on patterns and rhythms of nature and her study and work with Japan over the past three decades. She has shown her work throughout the United States and abroad in the United Kingdom and at the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, as part of the U.S. State Department's Art in Embassies Program. In 2021, Laurel was a Maryland State Arts Council Independent Arts Award Recipient. Her work has been reviewed in The Washington Post, Home & Design, and American Craft Magazine, among other publications.
