Jewelry

Artist Statement:

It started with a thread. My mother taught me to crochet and embroider. That led to a life of designing and constructing costumes, clothing, and jewelry. I was a painter and a graphic artist. Painting gradually became dimensional wall reliefs with fiberglass mesh and concrete. That, in turn, led to stone carving and then welding. Now my preference is for lightweight metals. As a sculptor and jeweler, copper is my choice for its workability and beauty. Waxed cord, patinas, mixed metals, gemstones, and Czech glass provide detail. Copper wire is the thread in my wire weaving, crochet, and macrame.
