Artist Statement:

Gretchen Morrissey is a textile designer, printmaker, and natural dyer based in Durham, North Carolina. Her capsule collection of hand-printed textile and paper installations comprises natural dyes (indigo, madder, cochineal, Osage orange) and heritage printing techniques to create vivid color hues and tonal depth with a minimal impact on the environment. Gretchen holds a Master of Science degree in Textile Design and Materials Technology from Philadelphia University.
